YITZHAK YEHIEL INDITSKI (b. February 5, 1866)
Born in Svislatsh, Byelorussia, and later settled in
Bialystok where he was a teacher of Hebrew.
In 1894 he began to publish Hebrew textbooks, among them a school
edition of the Hebrew Bible with explanations in Yiddish, with the general
title Targum hamilot hainyan… (Translation of the words and meanings…)
(1896-1899). In 1909 he published a
school book in Yiddish: Yidishe geshikhte (Jewish history), part 1. He wrote correspondence from Bialystok for
Hebrew and Yiddish newspapers under the name Y. Fogelzohn. In manuscript he left incomplete the second
part of his textbook on Jewish history and a Hebrew-Yiddish dictionary.
